Safety We only use FDA compliant products. The face paints that we use are actually not paint at all, they are highly pigmented cosmetics. The brands that we use are Mehron/Paradise, Snazaroo, and Wolfe Brothers, they are all cosmetic grade products. We do not use acrylic or other craft paints. Please if you chose to hire someone else, make certain that whomever you chose uses FDA compliant products. The glitter used is cosmetic grade and safe to use on skin. The material and cut of the glitter is vastly different from craft glitter. Cosmetic grade glitter is hexagon cut, and is made from polyester. This glitter should not be confused with craft glitters which are typically metal and cut square, which can be very harmful if it gets in your eyes. Again, whoever you hire for your special event, make sure the glitter that they use is cosmetic grade, if they do not know what you are asking, seek out another face/body artist! We love the diversity of painting different individuals and love the challenge of new requests; however there are some circumstances in which we will not paint.
This may seem like a downer, but it must be addressed...The RULES for being painted. We will not paint anyone not personally willing, awake, or coherent. We will not paint ill behaved children or adults. We will not paint any child that has to be "held down" by a parent or another adult. If the child does not wish to be painted that day, honor the child's wish! We will not paint anyone who seems to have a cold or flu--often indicated by a runny nose. We may opt to paint another area of the body such as an arm or leg, depending on the circumstances. We will not paint anyone with a rash, open wound or cut. Although our paints have an antibacterial in them, we still strive for safety for all involved. Depending upon the forum we are painting at, we will not paint anything we find objectionable, foul or obscene. We are fully insured so you can rest assured that we focus on safety as well as pleasure. |
